Key Instant Recall Facts
Key Instant Recall Facts in mathematics are known as KIRFS. KIRFs are designed to support maths skills that underpin much of the maths work in our school. They are a way of helping children learn by heart key facts and information they need to have instant recall of. They are particularly useful when calculating, adding, subtracting, multiplying, or dividing. They contain number facts such as number bonds and times tables that need constant practise and rehearsal so children can recall them quickly and accurately.
Each half term, the children will focus on a particular KIRF and be encouraged to practise these at home – little and often is best. Please click the link to find your child’s KIRF for this half term.Y6-Fairhaven-KIRFS-Autumn-1
